Juicy Lucy Burger — Cheese-Stuffed
Nothing says summer like a great burger. This Juicy Lucy with molten cheese sealed inside the patty on a charcoal grill is what everyone will be talking about at your next cookout.
The Juicy Lucy is a classic Minneapolis burger where the cheese is stuffed inside the patty — not on top. When you bite in, the molten cheese bursts out.
Ingredients
- 600 g ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
- 4 slices American cheese
- Coarse salt and black pepper
- Burger buns
- Toppings of your choice
Forming the Burger
Divide the meat into 8 equal balls. Flatten each into a thin patty. Place a folded cheese slice on 4 of the patties, then cover with the remaining patties. Pinch the edges tightly to seal.
Grilling
Heat the grill to high. Grill for 4-5 minutes per side. Don't press down on the burger! The cheese inside needs the heat to melt — let the burgers rest on the grill for an extra minute after pulling them off the direct heat.
