Smoked Turkey Breast — Moist and Juicy

The best smoked turkey breast recipe that always comes out moist and juicy. A wet brine, applewood smoke, and results that will impress everyone at the table.

Smoked turkey breast is one of the most beloved dishes in American BBQ. The secret is a brine of at least 12 hours and gentle smoking with applewood.

Ingredients — Brine

  • 2 liters cold water
  • 4 tbsp coarse salt
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp whole black peppercorns
  • 2 bay leaves

Additional Ingredients

  • 1 whole bone-in turkey breast (2-2.5 kg)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Seasoning: paprika, garlic, thyme, salt
  • Applewood chunks for smoking

Smoking

After brining, pat the turkey dry and coat with butter and seasoning. Smoke at 135°C with applewood for about 3-4 hours until the internal temperature reaches 74°C. Let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
